Thermal Engineering International (USA), a Babcock Power Inc. subsidiary, announces successful completion of the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Joplin, MO—Thermal Engineering International (TEi) has successfully completed the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.
TEi, a Babcock Power Inc. subsidiary, is the leading domestic supplier of heat exchangers employed in the turbine islands of nuclear power stations, including moisture separator reheaters, feedwater heaters, and condensers. The company is also responsible for the design and manufacture of high-quality pressure vessels and heat transfer equipment for the power generation and process industries. TEi earned SHARP certification status after undergoing a lengthy safety evaluation conducted by OSHA’s On-Site Consultation Program from July 11, 2023 to February 1, 2024.
SHARP is a voluntary program for small businesses sponsored by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the government agency responsible for setting and enforcing safety standards in the workplace.
Attaining SHARP certification signifies that TEi has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the standards of workplace safety and health. This certification also indicates proactive effort in creating a secure working environment, mitigating hazards, preventing injuries and illnesses, and developing a robust culture of safety.
“The welfare of our employees is our most valuable asset,” said Ken Murakoshi, President and CEO of the company. “It is the most prudent investment we can make, since ensuring the safety and health of our employees helps us to do the same for our customers and the communities we serve.”
“As a result of this certification, TEi is now part of an elite membership of only 31 other SHARP-certified small businesses in the entire history of the great state of Missouri who have made this effort,” said Murakoshi. “We pursued SHARP certification because it demonstrates our commitment to the well-being of our employees and to the highest safety standards. It also shows our customers that we hold ourselves accountable the highest standards of integrity and hard work, therefore they can expect the products of our labor to be of the highest quality.”
